Library

Book FairStudents in the school library.

Our library is a sunny, inviting space with a wonderful selection of books. You can sit in a comfy chair to read a story, sit at a table to work, spread out on the soft carpet to share a book, or find information in the non-fiction area.

Children are able to borrow whenever the library is open, and when taken there by the class teacher, or as required by their own research. Every class has at least one library time per week so students can always have a book to read at home. Pre-school children attending the Clever Cats programme are also encouraged to borrow books.

Each year new books are added to the collection with reference to the buying guide but with flexibility to purchase books to support Inquiry topics being studied, to provide new titles for the First Chapter Books section as required, books to cover new interests, and new picture books. The collection is also enhanced by the inclusion of the ‘Duffy Books’, donated by Scholastic, into the school library every time the children choose their free books under the Books in Homes Programme.
