Room 6

If you happen to waltz into Room 6 this year, you will see a big Waka high up on the wall. It is about Waitangi day and it has all our members of Room 6 paddling the Waka. We are showing teamwork as we paddle our way through the year.

Drama is one of our favourite activities that we like to do in Room 6. We have learned to make Freeze Frames and to give spoken thoughts.

Jace loves doing PE. His favourite game is dodge ball and soccer. Tessa loves to sing to Mrs Seque's guitar and some of the children are part of the guitar group after school on a Wednesday. We have a wonderful teacher that likes to sing with us. We have been learning a song called Time Of Your Life by Green Day.

Olivia loves art. We have just made portraits of ourselves, in a collage format, using pictures from magazines that meant something about us.

We all love being creative. At the start of the year, for maths, we created pictures of new inventions and also created a logo to go with it. It was based on Symmetry.

We love to write. We are learning to paint a picture using words just like an artist with a paintbrush. We are also learning to use full stops and capital letters correctly.

We are all looking forward to having our new classroom when it is finished. We will be working in the hall, while the remodelling is being done.

From Term 3 this year our class has shifted into the Hall to allow the builders to start on our upgrade. It is fun having our lessons in here and being able to sit on the kiva. We are looking forward to our new classroom, which will hopefully be ready next term.

Come to Room 6 and see our wonderful work. You are welcome anytime.
